Oatmael Chip Cookies

1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon  vanilla
1,5 cup flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups quick cooking oats
1,5 cups chocolate chips
Bake  175° 10-15 minutes

Norm's favourite: Chocolate Chip Cookies

1,5 cup margarine
1,5 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1,5 teaspoon vanilla
2,5 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup rolled oats, finely ground (in a
blender or food processor)
1,5 teaspoon  baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks
1 cup kraft caramels, quartered
Preheat the oven to 175° and line baking sheets with parchment  paper. Beat the butter and margarine with a wooden spoon until fluffy. Add the sugars and beat until incorporated.
In a small bowl, whisk the eggs. Add the vanilla. Slowly add the egg-vanilla mixture to the creamed mixture and combine well. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, baking soda and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the cream and blend well. Gently stir in the chocolate chunks and caramels. Bake on the centre rack for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool for at least 15 minutes on the baking pans, to allow the caramel to harden slightly. Finish cooling on a rack.

0,5 cup margarine
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
2 teaspoon brown powder
1 teaspoon  salt
1,5 cup coconut
0,5 chapped nuts
Melt margarine. Add brown sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Add dry ingredients. Add coconut and nuts. Spread in greased 9"x13" pan.
Bake  175° for 35 minutes.
